Wednesday the Cavaliers rallied to beat Chaseburg/Coon Valley 8-7 with Ty Fadness walking in the bottom of the seventh inning with the bases loaded and two out on a full count.  The Cavaliers rallied after Chaseburg/Coon valley rallied to tie the game in the top of the ninth. Brady Sand was the winner in relief and Ty Fadness hit a home run in the game.

The Cavaliers rode the sharp pitching of Troy Peiffer Friday July 23 to an 8-2 Victory over the St. Paul Red Roosters before 490 fans.  Peiffer pitched 6-2/3 innings allowing 3 hits 2 walks and 1 earned run striking out 1.  Makota Hirano pitched 2-1/3 innings allowing no hits and striking out 4. Makota is getting into shape after recovering from Tommy John Surgery. 

Saturday the Cavaliers swept the Manitowoc Bandits in a WSL Doubleheader 2-1 in the opener and 2-0 in the nightcap. Tyler Dierke pitched a complete game allowing 7 hits and striking out nine in the first game 

Andrew Klein threw 6 shutout innings and struck out six in game two.  Ryan Iverson earned his third save of the season with one inning pitched allowing no hits, striking out one to preserve the shutout. 

Lance Poppy, Mike Darley, Jamie Soyk and Iverson each had RBI’s for the Cavaliers running their overall record to 27-12 and 16-9 League Record. 

Ty Fadness hit a walk off Home Run in the bottom of the seventh inning to win game two 3-2 and allow the Cavaliers to sweep the Manitowoc Bandits.  The Cavaliers won game one 4-0 behind Cale Tassi who threw a complete game allowing 5 hits and striking out 6. The Cavaliers completed a 4 game sweep of the Bandits to run their season record to 19-12 and 18-9 WSL Record, which should secure Eau Claire’s second place finish in the WSL. Ryan Iverson was rewarded with the win in the second game thanks to Ty Fadness’s home run.  

The Cavaliers entertain Marshfield Monday night in a 7:30 game and then the Menomonee Eagles Tuesday at 7:30, which is Relay for Life Night. 

Friday the Cavaliers play Sparta in a 7:30 game to open the 40 Year Reunion Week End and play Exeland in a 12:30 game on Saturday, which is a change in opponents from the schedule.

The Cavaliers will celebrate their 40th Season on July 30th and July 31st with a Reunion Weekend.  The Cavaliers play a single game with the Sparta Millers on Friday July 30th at 7:30 PM and a single game with Exeland Braves  Saturday July 31st at 12:30PM. The Cavaliers will have a Reunion Banquet at the Plaza Hotel and Suites with cocktails at 6:00 and dinner at 7:00 with a program to follow and please welcome back our former players, former managers, coaches, board members, batboys and batgirls.
